Care Ministry – Rev. Jerri Lee Harrison

The Care ministry is our “Sunshine Club”. Sick and shut-in members are visited at home or in hospitals, birthdays are acknowledged, and visitors and new members are contacted.

New Member Classes – Rev. Rose Hardy-Levant

New member classes are required for people who want to become members of Liberation in Truth. The curriculum is designed to provide new members with the history and tenets of Liberation In Truth and the Unity Fellowship Church Movement. The new membership classes provide an opportunity to explore and discuss steward ship, sexuality and spirituality, and more.

Hospitality Ministry – Rev. Rose Hardy-Levant - Saundra Heath-Toby

The Hospitality Team of Liberation in Truth is committed to providing loving and hospitable receptions at church events that encourage fellowship.. The Hospitality Team welcomes the participation of church members in hosting of events through the preparation and donations of dishes and other resources that enhance the ministry.

Pastor's Aide – Tanya Hernandez

The Pastor’s Aide Committee provides care, support and assistance to the pastor in her daily service to both the church and community.

Olkiama (Elder’s Ministry) – Pastor Janyce Jackson

The name is taken from the Maasai language and means Council of Elders. The mission of Olkiama is to provide an atmosphere where elders can find emotional support, encouragement, and spiritual enrichment in the spirit of love and respect for the blessing of aging. Olkiama welcomes any person that has reached the chronological age of 50 years or older.

Usher & Security Team – - Rev. Alicia Heath-Toby and Netta Benthall-Irby

The Usher and Security Team provide and creates an environment that is conducive for worship for all our LIT church family, and ensure the safety of property by minimizing the risk and/or threat of violent or criminal incidents; both during Sunday service or at other venues. In addition, the team is present at various UFCM events.

Historical/Archiving Team – Deacon Jae Quinlan and Rev. Shonda Nicholas

The ministry of the Historical and Archiving Team is to record, collect and preserve the history of Liberation In Truth, and to transcribe information so that the legacy and ministry of Liberation In Truth lives on.

Performing Arts Ministry – Deacon Jae Quinlan – Dionne McClain-Freeney
Spoken Word- ministry through poetry and storytelling
Drumming (Akoben)-ministry through procession and the rhythm of the skins
Total Praise Dance Ministry - a ministry to praise God through dance.
No More Masks (NM2) Mime Ministry: unmasked mime ministry, Rehearsals Sundays, 4:15-6PM.
L.I.T.E. – Liberation In Truth Ensemble - Through songs of praise, invokes a spiritual atmosphere for worship and praise, delivers messages of healing, love and liberation. As an integral part of the social justice ministry, L.I.T.E is also responsible for carrying the message of liberation beyond the church borders, out into the community. Rehearsals: Tuesdays at 7pm at 11 Halsey Street.
Prison Ministry – Rev. Alicia Heath-Toby

The Prison Ministry’s goal is to extend the ministry of love, support and care to people in our church and community who are incarcerated or have a history of incarceration. We are currently looking for people who are interested in designing and leading a ministry that reaches out to women and men in prison, and who work with prison advocacy groups, and provide resources to people reentering the community from prison.

Impact Youth Ministry – Rev. Jerri Lee Harrison

Spiritual development for youth and young adults.. Meets Sundays, 12 Noon.

H.O.L.L.A: Masculine Identified Lesbian Ministry – Rev. Alicia Heath-Toby and Deacon Jae Quinlan

The H.O.L.L.A (Honoring Ourselves, Lovingly Liberating Another)-Mission is to provide and inspire spiritual leadership that supports and affirms the lives of masculine identified lesbians(M.I.L.)of all ages. Our goal is to provide safe spaces that M.I.L.s feel empowered to embrace leadership through ministry, community activism and outreach to other masculine identified lesbians who have been ostracized and shunned by churches and community. The motto of H.O.L.L.A is: “God called us, not in spite of our sexual identity, but because of it”.
