CULTIVATION MINISTRY

Cultivation Ministries is a resource ministry dedicated to the ongoing supplementation of the theological, practical and spiritual growth of the clergy and congregants. Its main purpose is to act as a conduit of spiritual resources for the entire church body, by providing a resource library, newsletter, internet research and weekly FYI's.

The Hospitality Team of Liberation In Truth is committed to providing friendly, generous receptions for church events. The team and church members accomplish the hosting of events through the preparation and donation of dishes. These donations, along with the development of a durable-items storage bins, has enabled the team to host all church events successfully.

MEDIA MINISTRY

The purpose of this team is to collect and preserve the history of Liberation in Truth Unity Fellowship Church through recordings, photographs, and audio tapes. The team is also responsible for the recording of all LIT events, collecting and preserving articles that mention or focus on the church and creating an archival library.

OLKIAMA - (Elder's Ministry)

The name is taken from the Maasai language and means Council of Elders. The mission of Olkiama is to provide an atmosphere where elders find emotional support, encouragement and spiritual enrichment in the spirit of love. Any person that has reached the chronological age of (50) years or older is welcomed.

The objective of the Pastor's Aide Committee is to assist the pastor within the ministry by providing snacks, meals and transportation. The Committee also serves as caretakers to the Pastor by contributing financial, social, and spiritual support.

SECURITY TEAM

The Security Team's mission is to maintain and ensure the safety of the pastor, liturgical team, congregants and property by minimizing the risk and/or threat of violent or criminal incidents during Sunday service or at other venues. This is done through monitoring movement within, as well as, outside the church during service hours of operation.

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT MINISTRY

The purpose of the Spiritual Development Ministries is to provide clergy and congregants support and supplemental education within the context of meeting each person where they are spiritually. This ministry will also provide the church body with the necessary resources and venues for further spiritual and theological exploration within the church and the community at large.

TRANSCENDANT FAITH MINISTRY

The primary goal is to provide a support system for Transgender, Transsexual and Genderqueer individuals regardless of sexual orientation. To impart tolerance for the immediate community as well as the community at large. To breed a spirit of acceptance and inclusion. To educate ourselves on gender differences and learn from one another as well as educate each other lovingly and respectfully.

USHER TEAM

The primary goal of our Usher Team is to create an environment conducive to worship for all our LIT church family. Usher Duties include handing out church bulletins, seating congregants for services and helping the Trustee to take up and count the offerings.

VOICES OF LIBERATION

The Voices of Liberation's task at LIT is to musically invoke a spiritual atmosphere that is conducive for worship and praise. Through songs of praise, VOL sends out messages of healing, love and liberation. As an integral piece of the social justice ministry, VOL is also responsible for carrying the message of liberation beyond the church borders out into the community.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY

The focus of the Women's Ministry is to advocate for women's issues in the church and the community while providing a safe space for dialogue among women such as support groups and rap sessions. The Women's Ministry sponsors the annual Women's Spiritual Retreat, Women's Herstory Month Celebrations and Women's Day.

YOUTH MINISTRY - Leaders In Training (LIT)

The Youth ministry consists of the Young Peoples Church (YPC) and Leaders In Training. This Youth Ministry was created to provide a loving network of support for the emotional and spiritual growth of our youth. The ministry serves youth from ages 5-28 and its future goals include: field trips for junior/teen groups, annual fundraisers, youth participation in worship service, membership class specifically designed for youth, a junior choir, and a junior Usher Board.

Men's Ministry M.O.V.E. (Men of Varied Expression)

Building support and camaraderie between all men who attend LIT. Meeting time and location: 2nd and 4th Sunday following the service. All men are welcome to join.

 

H.O.L.L.A. – (Honoring Ourselves Lovingly Liberating Another)

This ministry provides spiritual, social, and professional support to masculine identified lesbians (MIL) in our local communities where Unity Fellowship Church Movement(UFCM) churches exist. H.O.L.L.A focuses on serving the needs of young adult MILs; by creating networking opportunities that encourages and supports healthy emotional and spiritual growth and development.
