RESCHEDULED  -- Due to the passing of Dionne’s mother, we will reschedule our farewell appreciation for her.   You may send cards or notes for her and family to:

Dionne is asking folks, in lieu of flowers, to make donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation (alz.org) in memory of Mrs. Rubina Freeney.


Farewell Appreciation Service and Fellowship Celebration for our beloved Musical Director, Dionne McClain-Freeney.  If you have any gifts or presentations that you would like to offer up, be prepared to present them during the celebration after service.

::CHURCH PICNIC Sunday, August 29, 2010::

The Church Picnic will be on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Weequahic Park, in Newark.  The picnic site is on the corner of Chancellor Ave. and Elizabeth Ave. Grills and picnic tables are available. We have the site from 9am until Closing; approximately 7:00pm. 

There will be service that Sunday, from 12-1, Praise and Worship to get us in the mood for fellowship, and then we will load up our cars, and head to the park!  Invite your friends and family.  The park is large and there will be activities for kids. There will be transportation available, immediately following service.  NOTE:  Service will begin at 12 noon sharp and end at 1:00pm.

The Menu Includes:
Hamburgers
Hot Dogs
Chips
Desert
Water/Punch/Sodas
Salads (Potatoe, Cole Slaw and/or Macaroni)

Feel free to bring what you would like to put on the grill, outside of what is listed.

::HOMECOMING SERVICE, September 12, 2010::

Service begins at 1:30pm. Reach out and invite friends and family who we haven’t seen during the summer. It is also customary that the attire for that day is African attire or the attire that represents your culture. Bishop Holland is the speaker for the day.

::CLERGY APPRECIATION, September 12, 2010::

After Service----Clergy Appreciation. Celebrate and appreciate the work of the clergy of LIT; Assistant Pastors, Deacons. Program and refreshments will be immediately after service, if you have any gifts or presentations to make in appreciation of our Clergy Staff, please let Kory or Gail know.

::FLEA MARKET, September 18, 2010::

Liberation In Truth Social Justice Center (LITSJC) will host a FLEA MARKET, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, from 9AM to 3PM, in the street in front of our 11 HALSEY location in Newark. We're inviting organizations and individuals to participate by either DONATING usable goods for us to sell, or TABLING (reserve a table to sell your own items - $15 for individuals, $25 for organizations). We're hoping to raise some unrestricted funding, and invite you to join us!

Set-up will begin at 8am, and tear-down should start no later than 3pm. Any goods not sold must be removed by the vendor unless they have been donated to LITSJC IN ADVANCE of the Sale day.

Holy Convocation 2010: Theme: “We”. This year is an especially important Convocation; our own beloved Deacon Jae will be ordained! If you need information, please see any trustee or Reverend. In addition, it’s tradition that LIT family get together on Saturday; the day of Baptism, and have a meal, so mark your calendar. Note: if you are interested in being baptized at Convocation, please speak with Pastor.
